A Hands-On Kick-Off

The first SAP Inside Track event in Porto, started with an SAP CodeJam led by Developer Advocate, Vitaliy Rudnytskiy. This special session focused on Getting Started with Machine Learning using SAP HANA and Python. Participants explored how embedded Machine Learning in SAP HANA can be used to build ML models and gained hands-on experience working with Jupyter notebooks in SAP Business Application Studio.

THE EVENT

The Beginning of Something Big

The very first edition of SIT Porto marked the start of an exciting journey for the local SAP community. Led by organisers Arnaldo Calçada and Fátima Linhares, the sold out event welcomed 200 registered participants at The Lodge Hotel Porto (now known as Forte de Gaia, Autograph Collection) — a stunning and versatile venue in the heart of Ribeira de Gaia. It was a day filled with knowledge sharing, networking and community spirit — setting the tone for future editions.

Our audience had the opportunity to listen to inspiring talks that sparked ideas, challenged perspectives and encouraged meaningful conversations. More than just a pause between sessions, our coffee breaks offered the perfect setting for meaningful conversations, new connections and community bonding. Designed to reflect the spirit of professionalism and innovation, our SIT Porto 2024 giveaways added a practical and stylish touch to the attendee experience. From branded t-shirts and polo shirts, to tote bags, computer backpacks and ID badges, each item was carefully crafted to enhance comfort, promote our visual identity and leave a lasting impression of the event.

SPECIAL PERFORMANCE

A Portuguese tradition to close the day

To end SIT Porto 2024 on a high note, we welcomed a special performance by the Tuna Académica do ISEP (Polytechnic of Porto - School of Engineering) — a musical group rooted in the academic traditions of Portugal. Their presence honoured the strong academic backgrounds of many SAP professionals and students, while celebrating the spirit of community, culture and connection that defines the SAP Inside Track. An authentic and lively tribute to where many SAP journeys begin.

Supporting NEED Cooperativa

As a non-profit event, SIT Porto 2024 was not only about sharing knowledge, but also about creating meaningful impact. All proceeds from the event were donated to NEED Cooperativa, an organisation that supports individuals with special needs. Our contribution was directed specifically to the Aqua+ project, a swimming initiative designed to foster personal growth, inclusion and well-being. With this support, we hope to help create a space where participants can develop new skills, overcome challenges and thrive.
